BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT PLANT
Disruption and poisoning of the microorganisms by heavily to non-biodegradable substances in the sewage sludge…
CUSTOMER PROCESS
- Municipal sewage treatment plant (Switzerland)
- Waste sludge with heavily to non-biodegradable substances (emulsifiers, dispersants etc.)
WASTEWATER PROBLEM
- Heavily and non-biodegradable substances in the waste sludge lead to disturbances and poisoning of the microorganisms in the aerobic and anaerobic phase in the sewage treatment plant operation
- Waste sludge contains inter alia emulsifiers, dispersants, dyes and metabolites
- Waste sludge with dry matter content of c.2%
- COD concentration c.11’000 mg O2/l
- Non-biodegradable (BSB5 / CSB <0,1)
GREEN OCEAN’S SOLUTION
- Objective: High biocompatibility of the residual load with clear water suitable for fertilizer purposes through partial oxidation
- Standard treatment with the ORCAN® process led to a COD reduction of > 60%
- Residual load with very good biocompatibility: > 0.6 (BOD5 / COD)
- The treated water is odourless, clear and still containing minerals and trace elements, ideal as a fertilizer
